Di Matteo - Sacked

Benitez in post until the end of the season. There is no confirmation if they mean Chelseas season i.e. December or the actual season. Why would anyone take the job these days except chasing a good payday. No-one given the time to build a team let alone a dynasty

Rafa is just trying to put his name back out there with this one and to prove he can still manage a big club. Shame the last one he managed is still trying to get out of the mess he helped put LFC in. This is just a nice big payday for him but he is probably hoping to get the position full time and if he does that is were the clash of personalities between him and RA will really start to show.
Your right in saying Chavski won't build a dynasty as RA wants instant results for his money. Look at AF, he was one loss from losing his job with MUFC and now he is one of the all time great managers. For all the slating LFC is getting at the moment it is the plan with BR, a 3 year plan at that and to be honest with the speed he is bringing the young players up it's starting to show already. Wenger is looking at Sterling if he loses Walcott, not bad for a player who only burst onto the scene a few months ago. The LFC board are planning on giving him time which, unfortunately, no Chavski manager will be afforded all the time RA is running the playground.

Saw a great tweet today

Pep Guardiola sacked by Chelsea for not winning any trophies since being linked with the Manager's job this morning....

Abramovich just doesn't realise what a laughing stock he's making his club.......

That's a gem.
I don't think he cares as long as he's happy.

Jsut spoke to a friend of mine who's whole family support Chelsea and he said Rafa got the best out of Torres.
I said yes he did get the best out of Torres, then Rafa was sacked, then we broke Torres and the we sold him to Roman for £50M.
He's still sulking.

My thoughts are that Chelsea are a laughing stock and after Man Ure, they are the team that everyone wants to see lose.

I was delighted to see Juve beat them this week and hope that Benitez takes them further down the league and out of the cups.

As a club, they encapsulate a lot of what is wrong with modern football.

And finally, much evidence this week that ridicules the commonly held view that the Premier League is the best in the world. Utter nonsense. Best league in the world and you have to sit through Stoke vs Wigan or Reading vs Sunderland. Hardly El Classico is it?

I used to love football and lived for the weekend to play. I can't stand it now - specifically the Premier League. A moral vacuum and a product made and presented by fools, played by morons and consumed by gullible idiots.

I am really thankful that my son who is 8, whilst he enjoys a kickabout, is not really interested in it and prefers rugby, cricket, golf and squash to both play and watch. Games with standards and proper gentlemanly conduct.

Easy now!!! :smirk:

While I take your point, it's hardly El' Classico in the spansh leage is it, Betis vs Malaga

Same goes for any league I suppose. Like I said, I fully accept your pont Snelly about a moral vacum where winning is king and buying the league like Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City have done in recent years only detracts from it further.

It's not a game of skill anymore, more which board room has the most disposable cash to buy a name

Sorry chap. Forgot you were a Stoke fan!

I meant QPR vs Wigan.

Mind you, I was dismayed at Tony Pulis this week, explaining how he was coaching his players to con the referee better. Very poor.

Nail hit firmly on the head Snelly.

Tony Clueless (as I call him) plays, quite frankly, the most negative football in the leage. QPR play better football than Stoke, but are bottom of the league.

While some Stoke fans are content to stay in the PL, the majoriy want to see a good footballing team, not going to happen with a manager who, when scouting players, doesn't look at ability, more physical build.

Anyway I digress. I think Rafa' will do quite well at Chelski. Maybe not a long term choice but I think he can deliver a different brand of football than they play now.

Your dead right he'll deliver a different brand of football, it'll be negative, defensive, "hoof it to Torres" football. It's dire and Chavski fans will hate it, a draw will be a success and when they lose it will be everyones fault but their own.
As an LFC fan I have sat through far too many games like that. He had one good chance to win the prem and his defensive "style" cost us dearly. Great cup manager, pretty ordinary league manager.

If football is as abhorent as you suggest and you hate it so much, why do you bother commenting on it, (I'm not suggesting for one moment that you shouldn't by the way), and if you're so in favour of games 'with standards and proper gentlemanly conduct' you'd better cross cricket and rugby off your list!
Oh, and don't be dismayed by managers' comments.............................don't read them/listen to them.
Don't forget, football repulses you...........ignore it!
