Imagine how good designing a golf course would be, a chance to have your name forever in history.
Imagine a blank canvas, with unlimited funds, would be awesome, from sketching out the first hole, to actually playing it.
This was just some random thing i thought of while watching the golf hahaha:whoo::whoo::whoo:

there is golf course design software out there so you could build your own and at least see it virtually

i would search high and low for the perfect setting for my course. it has to have big natual dips and peaks, mature trees and rivers that wind through alot of the holes. oh and it would be parkland!

About 15 years ago I had a golf game on the PC and it had a course design feature. I would spend hours and hours on there.
I'd have to create a parkland course with plenty of lakes, a few bunkers and none of those annoying irrigation ditches halfway up a fairway that suck in your best drive of the day!

Oh yea, I'd have to put a beer tap next to every green.

Haha theres some quality ideas there. Personally id try and make as much holes as possible risk/ reward holes. Anyone got any idea how one would actually become a course designer ?haha

My friend works for EGD who design a whole load of courses. He's more of a software geek person who models the courses on a pc first but probably isn't a million miles off being able to design them himself with the right promotion!
It kind of seems that most courses these days need the prestige of saying they were designed by someone famous, so unless you have the fame....

Not yet:thup:

I used to make golf courses for the tiger woods EA series, was fantastic fun! I got about 700 downloads each for my best courses.

I spent HOURS doing it, if you can get hold of a copy of tigerwoods 06 then go to this website http://www.coursedownloads.com/extras/category.asp?id=7&gameid=8 and get the tools. You can also make courses for TW07 and 08 but you need 2006 installed at least.

Hope this can help you realise some of your dreams, if you do get don't forget to try my courses!

i know where your coming from, i travel a lot for work and often think whislt in my car
"that would be a nice spot of land to build a golf course" the club house could go there etc etc..

i think i'll need to win the euro millions to do it though, national lottery wouldn't quite cover it
