Derek McInnes

That all depends what you are coming from. It also puts whichever manager in the shop window. Do a good job at Rangers and then more up the ladder elsewhere.

Rangers couldn’t afford McInnes apparently, they’ve no chance of anyone of decent caliber if they can’t afford that kind of money.

At least quote the statement properly instead of typing rubbish.
Doesn't fit with his anti rangers agenda
Whoever gets it will always have it i the back of their mind that they weren’t originally considered.
Rangers board said mcinnes was one of a number of people on the radar for the position so whoever gets it may well be on that list and were originally considered.

Where did you get that information from? Did rangers even offer him money because Aberdeen refused to allow rangers to speak to him?

Bottom line is rangers offered a guy a job, after discussions he didn't want it, big deal, plenty of other clubs have had managers refuse a job, mourhino refused England and Liverpool, klopp refused Man U,de boer refused Liverpool, none of those teams or managers seem any the worse for it. Larsson refused celtic,so did Owen coyle Was Rodgers celtics first choice or was it david moyes?
Does everyone on here think they were first choice for their job?
Apart from a few at the top table nobody knows what's been said behind closed doors at the discussion. Maybe his assistant didn't want to come, maybe he didn't like the terms in offer.
Maybe he just bottled it, because like it or not the rangers manager IS a massive job.

Ouch. Why even contact him then? That's embarrassing.

£1m buy out clause........Rangers spent a couple of months with their usual tactic of trying to unsettle McInnes and offered Abredeen way below £1m to speak to him. Eventually they offered £1m and McInnes turned them down.

They used exactly the same tactic trying to buy Hearts player Jimmy Walker.

They are up to their necks in debt again, surviving on directors soft loans but still trying to act like a 'massive' club.

The info I got came from someone within Aberdeen FC.

To be frank, I couldn't give a rats ass who Rangers try and get. The sideshow they go on with is hilarious and it's fun having the shoe on the other foot having endured the Kelly and biscuit tin era at Celtic whilst watching Rangers equal our 9iar record.

You mean Jamie Walker but I get your point, however your info on the tactic regarding Jamie Walker is way off, that deal failed because of 1 man and his stubborness to deal with Rangers, Craig Levein.

For stubborness = "do you know who we are, we're the mighty Raiiinjers"? Levein was quite right, as has been Wiggy, pay the going rate or eff off.

Anyway...

That'll be why they approached one guy in 6 weeks? That'll be why Murty has the job till into the new year?

As DFT says, they've done everything they could over 6 weeks to get him to resign with incredible help from their media chums, eventually they had to go the legit route, and found out The Rangers cannot bully other teams like Rangers used to.

The icing on the cake is Traynor's late night rant, not sure how you make a laughing stock a bigger laughing stock, but Jabba's managed it

How do you manage to churn out the horse manure on such a regular basis?
Aberdeen wanted 800k upfront just to let rangers talk to him with them giving it back if the deal didn't go ahead. An almost unheard of way to do a deal! Rangers refused but said if the deal went through they would pay the 1 million for him and docherty.
Hearts didn't want to deal with rangers and Walker wasn't worth anywhere near the money hearts wanted, deal broke down as happens millions of times at plenty of clubs in football

Doesn't matter if the info is correct, it's not going to stop doon having cheap shots on his anti rangers agenda.

Who says they haven't approached anyone else?
They've made one offer, doesn't mean they haven't approached other managers in their list
It wasn't the going rate for walker, nowhere near it and everyone knew it except hearts. Didn't see any other clubs rushing in to pay it when rangers wouldn't be held to ransom. Still stuck at hearts because, surprise surprise no-one else though he was worth that kinda money either.

TBH I fully expected DM to end up at Rangers.

It is amazingly amusing after all the p***ing about they've done for a couple of months that he's turned them down

Rangers claim to be a big club but have been pretty tin pot with this, if they'd offered us cash for McInnes straight away I'm sure he'd have gone (fact he wanted a couple of days to consider it after 6/8 weeks speaks volumes).

As a dandy, having a manager Rangers are desperate for turn them down to stay with us has made me very happy, last one to do that was Ferguson :)

I think you will find that it was Rangers not meeting Levein's valuation of the player that caused the deal to fail.
Basically they could not afford him.

Jimmy Walker :o [That was my uncle's name.]

Some good banners from the Aberdeen fans at Dens.
