Decided to start detailing my rounds

Just downloaded Scoresaver 2,
Summary Fairways hit: handicap standard 7, Greens in Reg: handicap standard 20, putts per round: handicap std 28+

Where's that V-easy

If I'm keeping a card on a bounce game I usually track no putts, fairway hit, green in regulation. Doesn't really tell me much other than that I need to hit more fairways, find more greens in regulation and sink more putts....

I then usually agonise over the card for the rest of the evening before binning it.

Is that if someone remembers to take the cards out...? :o

Scoresaver is the way forward. It takes seconds to record the stats on the little scorecard you print off and as you now know minutes to key the data in. Builds up a great picture and will definitely help you

Started a similar thread a while back. Got into the habit of noting my stats in between holes.

Would use Howdidido to give me some analysis on the data, but that function seems to not work on their website.
Like the look of that SS2, was recommended to me as well and I didn't really look into it much.

When I started I tended to look at the shots that cost me strokes and focussed a little too much on the negative side. So try to finish the analysis by reviewing the great/good shots. This usually takes not time at all :)

Does that application (SS2) let you record where you miss like long left, short right...?

In addtion does it have averages for the stats for all handicaps?

Lets you record fairways missed left/right, greens missed L/R short and long or if you are playing a hole, hit it in cabbage and can't get there in regulation there is a cross you can mark to say you couldn't hit it. Once you download you can look at rounds, specific holes etc and see where you are missing, whether you miss the fairway then find the green, miss the fairway, miss the green etc. Basically more stats than you can shake a stick at.

Before the paralysis by analysis brigade turn up, its worth mentioning that whilst you can analyse each performance individually and over time, and look at big pictures and drill down, it is worth remembering that they do only tell part of a story and you should look at how you hit the ball as well!

On the plus side, you can also record your practice time and build up a record of how much time you spent on each area, make notes of anything significant you found in your practice. You can also record details of lessons. This has been great to build up an archive of drills, comments and swing changes and useful to look back on for hints and reminders when it isn't going so well. All in all a top product
