Think it was the fact it's not going to be that 'xmas'y' may have swayed her, and as you say the potential for anything. After booking i read the government travel advice site and yeh, may not have been my best call. While its safe enough, its a has the potential to go off at any minute..

Helsingor castle is a nice little 1 hour train away, depending upon how long your there for. Cracking maritime museum as well.

Guys, Mrs wants a short getaway without the kids, any suggestions? Must be a BA flight as i have a free voucher to use, i am torn between a proper pre xmas trip going to somewhere like Munich which i know well, has a renowned Christmas market etc, or try and get somewhere that's a little bit warm still, canaries is the obvious shout. (i think she would prefer warmer, but has left it to me!)

Any suggestions?

Roots... am in the same boat, looking for a getaway. Everywhere is expensive at the mo. GBP/EUR not helping.
I stumbled onto something. If you go to Skyscanner and only put your starting location eg. LHR and dates, then it goes out and searches all the options and price points. simply brilliant option. Suddenly Barcelona is looking attractive again - but could not get that thru BA.com when i checked as I have points that i could have used.
