I have a Viofo A119 V3. It’s discreet, doesn’t shout about its operation and doesn’t sit in the eyeline. It’s permanently mounted and hard wired in(did it myself)
it looks very smart and has good image recording, though I hope it’s never needed.

Good.......it's not hard to do. You just need some fuse piggy backs (that should come with your hard wiring kit, but if not they arent hard to get) patience and time:)....oh and a little practical ability;)

I have zero of that, anything electrical I'm useless.
Found a local autosparks so I'm calling him tomorrow.

Somebody with facial hair went into back of someone last Tuesday coming back from golf. Suffice to say he is now having a dash cam fitted.
The one am going for is a nextbase 522 hard wired. Cheapest is amazon around £119 but they don't fit so it could be Halford.

I have a Voyager Dash Cam from Aldi which is basically a re-branded NextBase. But cheaper. :)
Good images night or day and is useful for instances like at the weekend when a woman decided to stop and indicate in the middle lane of the M74 because she realised she was missing her turning and I nearly ran up the back of her.

Someone quoted me £100 per cam to fit!! If he had said half off second cam as I'll already be at yours then id of thought about it

Did it myself took less than an hour per car

Fitted one for a mate

And then one in my new car

It's really easy

Thought I'd bump this rather than starting a new thread. Looking to get one, front and rear. I don't need cinema standard, just enough to hand over to the insurers if anyone drives into me or a scammer throws themselves at the car.

Ideally I'd like to avoid wires everywhere.

I'm not going to install myself, beyond my skillset.

Any recommendations?

I got a nextbase one installed by Halfords a few years ago. Nice neat job with no wires hanging around and does both rear and front. Not had to use it in anger yet
