Golf options if we stay here for 2 nights are:

On site courses:

Championship Course
Dartmouth Course

Other courses to choose from:
Wrangaton Golf Club
Dawlish Warren Golf
China Fleet Golf Club
Churston Golf Club
Dainton Park
Bigbury Golf Club
Thurlestone Golf Club

Any to avoid or definitely consider?

It's not an area I've played in before.

Golfers range from mid single figures to 24 handicap.

Cheers

I'd get on Twitter and tag Dan Hendriksen in the same question.
He is based at Churston and will know all those courses.

Thurlestone is the best course on that list

Dartmouth Championship course as is Bigbury and Dawlish Warren

Teignmouth is one to look at as well

Google says 43mins to Teignmouth which is worth playing.

Dartmouth championship - tough track but a must play
Dartmouth course - 9 holes but 18 with different tees - not a pushover but quite relaxing compared to the Championship

Wrangaton Golf Club - 2 distinct 9s with front 9 rustic moorland and back 9 parkland - quirky
Dawlish Warren Golf - on a spit in the Exe estuary so can be exposed if it's windy, greens are usually very good but it's a bit marmite
China Fleet Golf Club - just over the Tamar in Cornwall so quite a trek
Churston Golf Club - in great nick at the moment
Dainton Park - pleasant parkland track
Bigbury Golf Club - in very good condition and lovely coastal views but tricky if it's windy
Thurlestone Golf Club - England's Pebble Beach - again fantastic views but exposed to the wind

I'd go for Dartmouth championship and either Churston or Dainton on one day and either Bigbury or Thurlestone on another

Teignmouth is an Alister McKenzie design high above the town so can get affected by mist and fog
Torquay is also a possibility but it can get very busy

I quite like China Fleet. Some interesting holes. 1st (because of driving range fence) and 10th are a bit meh but the rest are pretty decent!

But if you're venturing over the Tamar Bridge drive another 10 minutes and play St. Mellion.

We must have enjoyed our trip to Churston a couple of years ago as I still have the course planner! Never got to play Dawlish Warren as at the time the guy in the pro shop was an absolute knob.
