My current pair of wedges are looking a bit worn now, i was hoping they would last until 2023 when the old grove law changes, but not looking like it.

I currently use Mizuno MP10 50/6 and 56/13 and really like the grind on the sole of these. Not liking the new mizuno T7 tbh.

someone on here had some custom wedges a while ago that looked very similar, but can't remember who its was.

to anyone that has custom wedges what are they and where did you get them from??

Patrick:

Just a thought but I still use my Ping Eye2 Original Sand Wedge. The thing could survive a nuclear holocaust (which may be handy considering who our President is) but still spins well despite the fact Ping tells me it was made in 1983. It is 57.5 Degrees and I use it exclusively from sand. My other wedges are Callaway X-12 Pro Series at 47 and 54 degrees.

Have a look at the Edel website, they do custom wedges alongside their putters and might be a fitter in your neck of the woods you can speak with.

I've got custom wedges from Iain Clarke (ICY Golf). Had them for more than 3 years now and love them. Get them refinished once a year, he recommends every 3 - 4 months but getting there that frequently is not so easy for me. I would if I could, when he refinishes them they come up like new and spin balls like mad. He's a great guy and offers a fantastic service, both in fitting and production of the wedges. They are forged by Kyoei, located in Hyogo, Japan, Iain then fits you and custom grinds the bounce, and will stamp, engrave etc. if required. My original review is here http://forums.golf-monthly.co.uk/showthread.php?64169-ICYGOLF-Wedges&highlight=ICYGolf. you won't go wrong giving him a call and paying him a visit.

An old pic of one of the wedges when I collected http://forums.golf-monthly.co.uk/attachment.php?attachmentid=9190&d=1392721173

edit: just re-read that old thread out of interest, there are more pics on page 8 http://forums.golf-monthly.co.uk/showthread.php?64169-ICYGOLF-Wedges/page8&highlight=ICYGolf

That may have been it, Thanks.

Do you know if he does a black finish? i had a look at the website and couldn't see any and the photos where not that great.

Not sure where he is based, but I'm in the north of Scotland.

Also had a look at Cooper, who are in Edinburgh and look a similar product. Surprisingly not that expensive £115 for a wedge which is only £10 than off the shelf mizuno

Iain is based in Leicester, a bit of a trek from the Highlands. Cooper are a lot closer to you, and according to their website they source from the same forging house as Iain.

To achieve this Cooper has taken the quality forgings from the renowned forging house of Kyoei in Japan and applied the knowledge, history and design from Scotland – the home of golf.

I don't know whether Iain has a black finish I'm afraid.
