Hi ive just started golf again after 3 years out and have been given a handicap of 22.

I do however play to 15 so i think its time for me to get some custom fitted irons, i have just bought a driver and 3 wood recently off ebay and i am fine with these clubs.

I live in Bristol, i dont really mind which manufacture my clubs are at all, ive had a look online but cant find any good custom fitting centres near me they all seem to be in london or up north?

Just wondering if there is anyone who could help me out?

Thanks Craig

1st place I'd go would be to ask your club pro.

Hi,
I am based in Chipping Sodbury,I have used Nicky Lumb at Hambrook, book a custom fit session on the launch monitor, about £30, go with an open mind you will spend about an hour or more hitting balls, but you will be suprised at the results,as you hit out on to the range you can also see your true ball flight as well as on the readout.
I was suprised at how many of the top names did not suit me, but have just ordered some Mizuno mx200`s,using this method.
Money well spent in my opinion, takes all the guess work out of it.
If you fancy a game at Sodbury give me shout.
Regards
chipping. :)

Wow a member who goes to the same club as me!

I take it you do play at chipping sodbury?

Thanks ive heard about nicky lumb but didnt realise he did all of his clubs, i thought he only did his own brand which is keno or something isnt it?

I've also been told the service you get with mizuno, ping etc is 10 times better than getting it there?

Thanks for help

I think you need to re-phrase your second paragraph.
"I can however play to 15"....in which case you should look at C/F irons....15 might become 12......

My advice would be to hang fire and look around for demo days. Most of the big manufacturers are now out and about and most will have a state of the art launch monitor so you can check your stats and will have a number of shafts etc to try. If you use these first you'll have a much clearer understanding of what you do and don't like and a better knowledge of your swing numbers to make an accurate comparison against.

Yeah ive just noticed at nicky lumbs in hambrook they have a demo day with a number of manufacturers going :D

Hopefully i can save up enough in time to buy new irons :D

Yeah i have 4 competitions this weekend so im expecting my handicap to be cut pretty quickly :D

Hi
Yes I do play at Chipping Sodbury, only been a member just over a year,
Nicky Lumb covers all the major brands, found my fitting with them very thorough, and the pro carrying out the fitting sure did know what he was doing, can`t see that anybody else could do any different, but maybe I am wrong.
They have got a Demo day on Saturday over the Easter Holiday.
