Anyone know of a decent fitter in the north east of England?

Had the 1 email i await every year...from the MD telling us we have made profit and bonuses will be paid!

Now i currently use a standard sports shop package set although i did own some Cobra S3 irons although never used them. Got them for xmas off my mother, she bought directly from a golf retailer and when i opened them up a few weeks after xmas noticed they were certainly not 'new'. Took them back and got vouchers (£50 more than the irons themselves) And then i sold the vouchers for cash to a mate from work

Anyway i am rambling!

I want to stick with Cobra as i like the look of them although i want them fitted professionally this time.

Anyone have suggestions as to where to go for this?

Regards,
David

I will happily recommend Nicky Hall to you too, forum name MGL

Just tonight, Ive been down at his place, as he has fitted My Son, and Built him some new Clubs, just picked them up tonight

He DOESNT stock Cobra, but does carry some Very nice lines, and there will be something for you, for sure
He will be more than happy to talk to you, phone / email / PM, and answer any questions you may have, drop him a line and see how it goes.

He's just recieved some Demo ORKA iron heads
And if u do a quick search on this forum, the ORKA Fan Club is growing and growing, so well worth a look

If anything he definitely under sells himself, especially when he's on a golf outing. Definitely worth a visit!!

i noticed that thought he doesnt mention clubs selling/making clubs for you

but then again nicky looking to sort himself with a driver sprays that tp all over haha ;)

jokes :ears:

Philips golf at killingworth are good. Stock most brands

I recomend Philips Golf, Phil is my teaching Pro and is very very good, excellent fitting as well, I got my CG16's they've been getting the new fitting carts in, took delivery of Cleveland and Nike carts recently, can do you Taylormade, Titlieist, Mizuno, Wilson, Ping.

£35 for the fitting which if you buy clubs comes off the club price.

I can't really help you but I do like the look of the new Cobra amp cell adjustable driver, nearly pulled the trigger on one on ebay last night, then again I'd probably be better off getting a G20 or something, good luck.

Sorry for dragging up an old thread but thought it was easier than starting a new one!

My annual bonus will be paid next week, and i want to get some new clubs - custom fitted

Do i contact MGL through his website? What brands does he stock?

And although i know no one can put an exact figure, but say i wanted driver, a couple of woods, and a set of irons, what would be the average figure i'd be looking at spending? (not the highest end stuff, but not the bargain bucket stuff?)

Does the fitting price come off the overall figure?

Sorry for all the questions, but the better half wants to talk figures before i book a fitting!

David - just replied to your PM.

Thanks for the recommendations guys - appreciated!

@ Wayman - for that quote on my driving, I will be bending your irons the wrong way next time lol! ;)

Jumping this up to see if any has any more recent experiences with fitters in the north east. I might finally pull the trigger on custom fit irons and want to get the best fit possible.

I've used Andy Robinson, he works for Tim Jenkins at Redcar, excellent service, most brands, FlightScope and fitting price comes off clubs if you then purchase through him, and he does pricematch
