Crimbo presents.

Not really looking for anything bought as nothing much I need...Mrs SILH will decide what I need on the clothes side of things. Maybe a couple of books. Lots of stuff I'd like but all of it I can do without. Mrs SILH wants a Sonos PLAY:1 or equivalent - so that'll do us. Apart from that a nice busy church on Christmas morning and Christmas lunch made by my daughters b/fs mum will do me just grand.

If you use amazon music etc, get the Sonos One. Its voice controlled, and get it today as they are well discounted. Also you could spend more, they have limited edition colour ones on their own website, they look pretty cool!!

Why would I want to be talking to a box? I certainly can't see Mrs SILH talking to it... but I shall consider your suggestion and do some investigatory analysis. Are they not, however, a lot more expensive than the Sonos PLAY:1?

The alternative to the Sonos PLAY:1 I was looking at was the Bose SoundTouch 10 - but the Sonos seems to win out - especially if we want to expand from our start point. But happy to accept suggestions.

50 quid more on rrp. you can turn off the voice control if you like, i will be hiding mine when we get 2 of them, so voice control/app will be required. as for sound, i believe they are exactly the same.

Sonos one allows for better integration if you widen your sonos range, it also connects to apple airplay 2,

Somber year at our house this year so we won’t be going lavish with gifts. I took some time off work recently, between jobs, to recharge the batteries so I’m about two pay packets light so we’ll be taking it easy. What I’d love, with the above proviso, is a few days of great food, great drink and total relaxation.

All I want is a Terry's Chocolate Orange and I'm happy.

Christmas is for my kids.

Kids got one a piece a few years ago off bro in law. When he had kids I told Missis T it's there turn to get a Terry's chocolate orange. Went down like a fart in a spacesuit.

Not fussed. There's nothing I "need" and the wife feels the same. Maybe give each other money to go towards our holiday.
Got my daughter some GHD's that she wanted, and my Son a new Kindle Paper White.

Golfers must be the easiest people to buy for.
Not necessarily. Non-golfers buying golf things for someone can be a total waste of time. That's when you end up with 'ball-finding glasses' and ball-printing monogramming things, and a leather pouch to wear on your belt that holds 3 golf balls. All of which I have sat at home gathering dust.
