Had an hour booked in on the launch monitor at the local range today. The launch monitor is a GC2.

Had a few lessons this year, fitted for a new set of clubs (i20s) back in June and now steadily improving so thought I would get to know how far I'm actually hitting with each through the bag.

Hit a few balls before hand then set up on the monitor, started with my wedges and then up to my driver, which I hardly ever use now.

Big thing straight away I found was my 54* and 50* are going exactly the same distance, 1 is a Vokey and Cobra Trusty Rusty. Big gap between 9 and 8i. Not a lot of difference between my 8 and 7i. 6 and 5i are going the same distance.

Hardly ever hit 50* as I thought I hit 54* better and same goes with the 5i. Big gap between hybrid and 5 wood of 35yards.

Definitely recommend going for a gapping / distance session to anyone.

So I've come away with a few things, don't need the 50*, work needed on the 5i and possibly a new hybrid to fill gap between current and 5 wood. More work on Driver needed, deliberately not talking about how bad that was.

Here's a pic I managed to get. Wedges up to 6i were all drawing, whilst everything above was a fade. The driver was a huge high hook and then a slice, put it away after that.

Was that at Southfields Matt...?

Sounds like you need to put some graft in Pal..!!

Yes mate, by the sounds of it they haven't done it often either, as in check yardages for people. I would love too get out more but family comes 1st, 3 kids. Probably on average only getting out twice a month sometimes 3 if I can sneak it in.

Definitely worth doing. The last time I had mine checked there was 20yds between 7 iron and 8 iron but only 3 yds between 8 & 9.

Needless to say, all were nudging 300yds...;)

I thought this was going to be another thread about Justone's teaching but then realised it only say one hour at the range ;)
