I'm not a great fan of Eccleston, and Lee park isnt much better, but one consideration is to join a course for a year with a few forummers at and get your feet under the table. Both courses have 3-4 resident forummers at them. It's always good to have 3-4 people who you can call up for a game.

Both dont have joining fees and probably give pro-rata deals, and in the meantime you could play 7-8 of the ones in close proximity and join your fave next year. Another thing to consider is where will your place of work be, as commuting can be a pain in rush hour.

Warrington is a nice course, but in south Warrington and you have to go right through it from newton. Blundells Hill is close and good, Haydock I havent played. Ashton was decent - you dont drive a white van, or are the wrong sort, are you?

Most courses in this neck of the woods are about £1,000 annual green fees.
