Courses near Scarborough / York?

Looking to broaden golfing horizons, can anyone suggest or recomend a course in this general area please?
Looking to travel, stay and play.
All help greatfully recieved.

Depends how much you want to spend.

For Scarborough there's south cliff and north cliff (in that order), and plenty of places to stay. The Palm Court hotel isn't bad. Ganton is pricey but you'll struggle to find a better course in the UK.

Malton & Norton, 27 holes.

York. Fulford and Strensall are both superb.

Hotels in York are pricey so shopping around will be needed,

Can only agree with hobbit about courses.

Stay in a hotel / B&B in Scarborough and you'll have Scarborough North and South Cliffs, Ganton, Filey, Bridlington and Malton all within a short drive.

If you're thinking of Bridlington, then its got to be Bridlington (Belvedere). Best greens I've been on all year but recently the course has been very muddy... pick your time if you're thinking of there.
