Have you read the OP? To me, there's an impcation that it's not an 'on the way up' course that's required!

I was open to all considerations, being that I was planning to travel up on Saturday, so could have stopped over anywhere enroute to be honest. I eventually decided to head straight up to St Andrews and extend our AirBnB an extra night to stay right there, making it a short drive out on the Sunday. AirBnB by the way is the way to go. We stayed in a lovely two bedroom apartment with private parking just past the cinema on North Street, a couple of minutes walk from the links, perfect to get around the main drag without driving. £140 a night for three of us, very good price for the location and facilities.
