Went to Las Vegas for a week with the lads and decided that we would play Golf whilst we were there so went to the Golf Desk in our Hotel and arranged a round at Rio Secco, 20 mins ride out of Vegas.
We had a collared t-shirt with us each and went and bought golf shorts (tho they did say cargo shorts would be ok as we were here on holiday). The round cost us $100 and the club and shoe hire was an additional $50 (full set of Callaway diablo clubs, odyssey putter and Footjoy shoes). We were playing in the midday heat so the buggies which are free as it's a resort course had on board ice boxes and stocked with water, which is replenished after 9 holes, which was a nice touch as you would expectto pay for your own water. The club house was huge and the course has a butch harmon golf school on site. The course is a desert course set at the bottom of mountains so the elevation changes are intense with some shots being played upto 400ft above the fairways and greens. The par 3's are very good with most being played across valleys and gorges to greens and because of the elevation the wind was whipping up and gusting so some of the shots onto the tiny fairways and greens below were difficult. There is a hole which if you hole in one you receive $1million dollars to which I missed by 3ft and all others in the party didn't even hit. The course is obviously built on desert so if you miss the fairways and limited rough you tend to be oob's so accuracy is the key. The course winds through houses worth from £1m - £8m so you do worry about wayward tee shots. I can't really do this course justice so please look at the website but if you do go to Vegas and want to leave the casinos for a day (if you can manage to get away) then I would highly rcommend this course, it is by far the best course I have ever played...
