course recommendation

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a course preferably 9 holes around pwllheli?

Going for a weekend break and looking to do 9 holes on Saturday whilst the girls go off somewhere. We wont have our own clubs so also have to borrow. Had a look at a couple of the 18 hole courses and a bit expensive. £69! (which is a bit crazy cause the annual subscription is only £450!!)

Also is it just me or are clubs in Wales a lot cheaper? the 3 I looked at are all under £600 for full membership

Nefyn & District, 4 for 2 from mid October as well and I'm sure it was less than 69 quid when I was there.

If it is just a 9 holed you are looking at, then there is one on the road to abersoch, it is attached to a camping/caravan site. I can't remember what it is called, but it is fairly obvious and well signed on the road so it should be easy to find. It has a driving range too, and you can hire clubs. Its not the most interesting of courses, but has always been in really good condition when I have played it. If its a nice day, the views out over the bay are great too.

The only other course I have played in the area is Porthmadog, again lovely course with 2 very contrasting sets of 9 holes.

There is also a course is criccieth, which is 18, but I'm sure it is 9 holes which you play twice, the views from this course are great too.

Easy......play the back 9 at Portmadog. You wont be disappointed.
