Constant release of New Product

When you have a driver you can use you don't need to change it for years, and not 2 or 3 but 5,6,7 or more. But the manufacturers don't release products so quickly to benefit us, they do it because they know that people will buy it, they do it because they know people will try to "buy" a golf game and they do it to make money. There is nothing else to it than that.

I'm quite happy TM release new drivers/upgrades every 6 months. All I do is wait for the current model I fancy to be super-seeded then pick up a bargain when the golf shops are trying to get shot of them.

That is the best way to look at it.
i like to dabble with different drivers but I have only bought the 910 brand new because it offered up what I wanted to do. Everything else I have had has been last years or eBay used, and then shifted on when I had my fun with it. I doubt the project driver will be saleable but it was not really my intention to flog it on.
I also don't get the people who change their irons every season especially when they are cast....blades maybe but you have to play frequently to warrant changing because they are worn out.

Very sensible,it does make you wonder why so many new drivers are sold.

I could certainly play a G15, provided the shaft was right for me. Not quite so keen on the G10 but that's more shape than performance. Deep faced Drivers suit me better - current one apart.

Drivers haven't really changed much in last 3-4 years from a performance point of view imo. It's forgiveness that has increased. Hit some classics recently R9 Limited and R7 Superquad performed very well! Even R510TP had good performance, just not as forgiving as others.

I see your a 9 h/c I tend to think a player around your h/c could use any of the older drivers and would not have to much of a difference to your game,I understand why some of the more serious golfers want to get the best possible equipment out there and good luck to them.

But with most manufacturers bringing out new drivers every year I fail to see why the average golfer would want to go to the expense of buying one.

I had a game with a friend who is a 3h/c and was discussing this,he had a go of my driver (k15) and was of the opinion as he would only use the driver on limited holes it wouldn't affect his game adversely ,mind you he does like to try the new models out there, perhaps that's the attraction nice new club.
