TBH if you can get xbox live codes for £30 for the year then this is the option to go.
Gives you access to netflix in a format that will continue to stream a few episodes if you are sitting down for a session (every now and again it will check to see if you are still watching just to avoid unnecessary data usage)
A quick fiddle with the manual DNS and you can get access to the US netflix content. Technically against T&C but they aren't really bothered as long as they get their few quid each month. Then just switch back to auto DNS to watch UK content.
If you have sky you can access Skygo on the Xbox. If you don't have sky and a friend or family member does but doesn't use Skygo you can use their account.
Then there is iplayer and 4od.
Being able to access US netflix with ease on the big screen is worth the £30 a year alone IMO.

Just purchased Chromecast. £30 & it's spot on for Netflix & Youtube. Easy to set up (5 mins)
