CONGU Exceptional Score Adjustment

Regrettably this is ESA in reverse!

Last year around this time I was off 12.2 and my golf has gone downhill since. I am mid 60's and have suffered with health problems with arthritis in my lower back. Last year at The Annual review I was given a shot back and am now 14.3

Last year in Comps my average score was approx 5 above the CSS. This year it has been much worse with 2 nett 82's an 83 and today 84. Par 71 SSS71 CSS usually 71.

I am not competitive which is frustrating and my question is whether there is anything in place that my poor performance will be flagged up or is it the normal practice to wait for the review at the end of the season?

Annual Review is the normal means of adjustment in such situations but Handicap Committees still have the ability to take action if it becomes clear that the handicap is no longer a reflection of ability.

Average of 5 above CSS doesn't sound way out to me, not far outside of buffer .... and of course being the average means you must have a few in buffer, and even below ?

Should be flagged up in the next Annual Revue then. In the meantime play in as many qualifiers as you can and your handicap should go up 0.1 each time. If you have a medical condition that adversely affects your play, then make the handicapping committee aware of this.

Those scores related to last year and would already have been considered in the Annual Review. The OP's point is that this year's scores have been significantly worse than those from last year which led to an AR increase.
