Competition -Matchplay and then Strokeplay same day

Perhaps I have this wrong but is someone allowed to play in a matchplay comp in the morning and then a strokeplay in the afternnon on the same day.

Is there any difference if it was played strokeplay comp morning and matchplay p.m.?

reason for the difference is that you are allowed to practice on the course before a matchplay event

You can not play or practice on the course before a stroke play event.

Play off the reds if you like but it's still practice on the course.
