Commiserations this weekend - Post here if you played rubbish this weekend.

Can't say I played badly yesterday but I'm playing in a Cornwall golf union competition today on a course neither myself or my foursomes partner have played before so will more than likely have plenty to report later.

Well I played like a numpty yesterday! irons were spot on, but driver and putter were so poor.

I 3 putted 5 greens and just for good measure I popped in a 4 putt on the last hole.

Was due to be playing today, but will give it a miss and spend a couple of hours on the practice green as this putting lark is killing my game.

Net 79 (SSS 71) so +0.1 for me. If I could have holed a putt outside of 3feet then I'd have been looking at a small cut. More practice needed on those mid range putts this week.

Crap for weeks now, slice come back with a vengeance,so finding it hard off the tee.all out of the middle of the driver, just about 20 yards right.

Well, I didn't hit one shank today (6 iron was the longest iron I played though) but my driving, which has been one of the few reliable parts of my game this year, was pants. In fact getting anything off the tee was an achievement.

I was hitting just about every tee shot with a wood fat, sometimes almost a foot behind the ball. First hole, ground first and into the clag, provisional ball, ground frist and a similar result. If I could have driven today I might have made buffer, as it was I ended up NR'ing on the 6th hole, first time I've ever NR'ed.

Having said that it's the best I've played for a while, it was a medal round so obviously I'm out of it but I almost scored 30 Stableford points! (29)

Don't know if it qualifies as playing badly, but lost in the four ball knockout today when a win would have put us in the quarter finals. Starting from our 10th, I knocked round our back 9 in a gross 39 against a par of 35, playing off 8, with my partner's assistance (he being off 12) that came down to 38. Not the end of the world, but unfortunately for us the opposition managed to knock it round the same back 9 in 37 gross, playing off 16 and 20. After 11 holes they were 1 over gross (which equated to 33 points off full allowance) and we shook hands on the 15th. Still at least my partner and I had a new golfing experience, picking up our gross birdie opportunities on our third hole of the day (par 5) as the opposition's net eagle putt disappeared from 30 feet.

Are your opponents planning to win a Dubia holiday this season? Or maybe the TT!

A weekend of 2 halves for me. Yesterday a good win in the summer singles giving 9 shots. After being 3 down after 7 then 1 down with 2 to play. Won the last 2 holes.
Today 27 points. It was horrific. I'm up to 8.5.

Yup...poo from me. 24 points. Struggling to strike the ball off the tee or with irons. 6 weeks now, and considering calling it quits after the summer

First round at my new club on Saturday, great weather, lovely course and decent company... and unfortunately only 16 points!

Actually hit my irons pretty well but driving was terrible.. Too many 3 off the tees, lots of doubles and only 3 pars as I remember.

Not played much in the last few months though (two times since November I think) and no shanks, only one top as I can remember so onwards and upwards and looking forward to being a member there and getting back on the course to try and get some revenge.

You've got to love golf...

Yep, rubbish from me this weekend. 97, net 81 (+9).

On the plus side, I was 90, 11 over net after 16. A quick talking to myself (I wasn't going to be going over 100) and pulled off two pars to finish and give some pride and confidence for next time out.

From the relief of hitting buffer yesterday I had the lows of not even getting close today. 32 points with 2 blanks and CSS going to 69 when SSS is 70 on a par 71 course I would have needed 35 to buffer so even rescuing a single point on the blanked holes would still have left me short. oh well I'll still battle on for a cut this year.

Don't you fire blanks ? Not you personally but you know what I mean.

Had the monthly medal ruined by one hole with a low hook off the tee ending up in the lake left of the tee, second shot took a bad bounce off to the right and ended up under a bush and took 3 to get it out. Flag was tight to the bunker and guess where it ended up, however just to make things worse the ball stopped under the lip instead of rolling back .

Was third on the divisional leader board when I left and will pickup for birdying one of the par 3's but it was a reasonable round followed by one nightmare hole which to rub the salt in is the easiest par 5 on the course. It's the first time I've had double figures on a hole in a completion :(

Could you not have taken unplayable and brought it out as a one shot penalty?

yep..... 29 points with 4 blobs. Lost 3 balls in three consecutive shots....... last shot on 7 and first two on 8.... 1 ft from the edge of another green in two, took 7 to get down after thinning it through..... and visited the trees on SIX holes...... despite all that, didn't get down on the round, it just was what it was...
