Many have scoffed at the OP's posts. I preferred to sit on the fence for I did believe he copped for a bit of flak, in some cases of an unneccasary nature.
I do feel this post has blown any credibility way out of the water though.
Romancing is what my mum would call it. I do feel tall tales are often told by the OP. This post indeed takes the biscuit.
For one, adjustable handicaps, suggestions that the course is in terrible condition with no grass on the greens!!!
Playing competitive golf merely weeks after a double break of the arm.
Maybe me being sceptical, but some of it just doesn't ring true.

Some do stand up for the OP and berate others. I do think that I have seen first hand the good old British wit with some of the responses to posts made by this fella!

So Bootle is a par 70 layout, you play off 20 and shot 1 over your handicap....how does that become an 88 Mono?

We know that Mono is / was a 'member' of a youngsters prangsters / revenge, website / forum.
Either our young lad is a bit of a fantastist or a complete wind up merchant, who enjoys watching the responses of a bunch of golfers with his mates.
The list of stories and claims is indeed long, and often contradictory. However as with everyone else on here, I really don't know what his (or anyone else's) background is. He may of had a little trouble whilst growing up that we're unaware off, that causes some of the more outrageous claims. Or as I've already mentioned. It's just a wind up.
Either way. His accounts are beweildering and amuzing, and mostly (tbh, all), absolutely harmless. So for that reason, I'll just take it as read, but with a large dose of salt.

I think his 'official' h/c is 17 so he probs was using that one ( it adds up I think)

According to howdidido there is a C Monaghan playing at Bootle off 20.4.
I suggest this may be Mono, so perhaps he's is telling the truth.

The handicap changes are odd though! That's the match and handicap secretary's fault though, not Mono's.
Even odder is that there only appears to be 18 gents players at your club or at least only 18 who are happy to be listed online.
