I purchased a Cobra Baffler DWS at the start of the year. When I hit it great I love it but the problem is it is my most inconsistent club.

The club has a slightly closed face. I am told this is to stop people slicing. My problem is that I don't slice the ball. My bad shot is a hook. I have had problems all year with this club as I tend to hook it alot. I believe this is exagerated by the closed club face.

I have tried drivers etc before with draw set up and basically it never suits my eye and leads to me hooking the ball. I prefer a neutral set up.

I have tried a a few of my friends' hybrids but they all seem set up with a closed club face.

Does anyone else have this problem with Hybrids?

I read the baffler Pro does not have this set up but it is geared towards the better player. I play of 15 so I doubt this club is geared towards me.

Should I be changing my set up to use the club properly?
I find that I have to use a different grip from my other clubs to stop me turning my hands over but this feels starnge and is far from ideal.

you play off 15 the baffler pro will be fine it will give a slightly lower ball flight with a square set up and different shaft,or start the ball off to the right more and use your draw/hook to your advantage try a pro version out and see what happens

I use the DWS and have a tendency to hook but to be honest I've not had any problem with this club. The only time it does become an issue is when I use it off the tee and then I do get the odd hook. From the deck on fairway or out of the rough it tends to go pretty straight (one of the few that does).

I'm not sure the problem is with the club being closed and I'm wondering if you are inadvertantly closing a tad more or gripping a touch stronger

Great club even in my uncultured hands.

I've found it can hook off the tee too but I'm currently working on the fact I keep the club closed through my backswing so that will probably be the reason.

For me it gives me great confidence and quite honestly seeing the left side of the fairway is a rare enough occurence.

Maybe you should try setting up for a fade or try resisting the release through the downswing??
