Club not updating Comp results on Howdidido

Yip I wouldn't like to comment if the Local Ruling stipulated preferred lies through the green for a Qualifying competition.

;)

I'm pretty sure (can't find a ruling) that Preferred Lies through the green (TTG) rules comps out as qualifying. Preferred Lies on closely mown areas and Drop from embedded ball TTG is Ok though.

I believe you need to challenge your Handicap Secy.

Club2000, the provider of the majority of systems for computerised handicap maintenance run HowDidIDo. The link isn't automatic - or at least wasn't when I was running comps. The results should have been published on Notice Boards from the comp though.

You are correct. I was referring to a possible situation at another Club which was mentioned previously on this thread!

At my own Club there is an automatic interface between the two systems which prompts the user at the end of each competition to post the results on HowdidIdo if they so wish. However I realise that not all Clubs make use of the HDID facility.

Im not suprised your going there mate, its a good track and a good test of ability. I enjoyed it a lot when i played it and soon found out why everybody was in a buggy apart from us :D

You will do well turning up there hungover and surviving 18 holes

Supposed to playing there in the next week or so! Looking forward to it! I hear its a bit of a walk!

It's not as bad as people make out mate. Just remember, its as much downhill as it is uphill!! Starts off relatively easy, then turns into a bit of a beast, especially if the wind is blowing.. Plus, once you get to the top of the hill, you get a lovely view of the West Lancs plains, including the lovely..................................St Helens................................ The clubhouse is good though, and it has Wainwrights on draught..

The default in Club2000 these days is to automatically publish the results to HDID. This gets done whenever you go through the Competition Prints "routine". If the pc that the club runs the Club2000 software on is unable to connect to the internet whilst trying to publish the results, they do not get published. So it is possible that the info on HDID is not accurate.

Another place to look for changes to handicaps is the England Golf website. It does not show your history but does show when it was last updated. Again this process does not happen if the club's pc cannot connect to the internet, however, unlike the link to HDID, the updates are saved until the pc can connect to the internet and the club goes through the appropriate process.
