I changed clubs this year, something I never previously expected to do.

Have you ever changed clubs and what is your attitude towards it.

Some people at my new club have been there decades!

I changed a couple of times as I learned to play in England then had an enforced change as moved to Northern Ireland. I would have envisaged staying at my club for a long time, I have no plans to move currently due to circumstances but if we keep getting pro events that could change.

What adverse impact do pro events have at your club JT?

Have been a member of three clubs that I have changed becuase of moving house and work. Also was a country memeber of a small course where we went on holiday but don't any more.

2 for me.
One where I grew up, learnt the game and played as a junior/student.
The second when I started playing again 12 or so years later and lived 100 miles further south.

Six for me.

First move was for better course and close to home but left there after two years as it was Hotel course. Happy at next one but we then moved to New Zealand where we were members at two clubs before coming back 30 months ago, cant see us leaving present club any time soon

Four for me.

Out of all Hainault Forest still remains the one that I loved the two courses and greens but the speed of play was just to slow to play there on a sunday morning and moved to Burnham-on-crouch which was great.

Quite a number for me (some down to work pressures and some down from moving from Essex to Shropshire).

two for me,fifteen years at Piltdown ,then gave up playing for 18 yrs.been a member of current club for nine years.I am looking to move clubs in the coming summer.

Ive moved clubs many times, but all bar one when I was far younger have been driven by moving house and area.

That said Id have no trouble moving clubs within the area if I thought I would be better off at a different club (sadly the options local to me are more limited than anywhere Ive ever lived before, or hopefully am at again)

Personally quite like the change, stops me getting a little bored with the same place and people year after year :)

One for me, joined initially in the mid eighties for a couple of years before marriage, mortgage and kids forced a long lay off from golf.

Joined the same club again 20 years later and have no thoughts about leaving any time soon.
