Yep, another club fitting thread.....sorry.
mom looking at getting a new set of irons and want to get fitted for the first time. I’ve been looking at the new PXG 0211 irons and like the look of them but also appreciate they may not be best. The closest shop to me is Clarke’s in Rainford, St Helens but they don’t have PXG. Is there anywhere I can compare PXG to others?

Wilmslow GC do PXG fitting days for 40 quid. Not sure of youd be able to compare though. Unless you booked on for a general club fitting with the pro there directly after?

I went to Wimslow GC for my PXG driver and woods great set up .
Fitting was excellent .
They did have all the other oems fitting bags.
As said you might have to ask the pro for a general fitting but if you want PXG you can book it on PXGs website.
It gives you a choice of clubs to go to and time date to suit.
I didn’t pay for the fitting as I bought the driver.

  • Swanston Golf Academy – Edinburgh
  • Morpeth GC – Northumberland
  • Garforth GC – Leeds
  • Wilmslow GC – Cheshire
  • Coxmoor GC – Derbyshire
  • The Golf Centre Coalville – Leicestershire
  • Bromsgrove Golf Centre – Warwickshire
  • Woodhall Spa GC – Lincolnshire
  • Woburn GC – Milton Keynes
  • AF Golf – Cambridgeshire
  • Royal Norwich GC – Norfolk
  • The Grove – Rickmansworth

  • Hensol Golf Academy – Cowbridge, The Berkshire, Ascot
  • Tee Box London – St Paul’s Cathedral
  • The London Club – Sevenoaks

I have the new pxg 2011 irons and they are so good, they look great and feel so soft and powerful and are so easy to hit. They are a big improvement on the gen 1 0211 irons.

cheers mate, I’ve seen that list and Wilmslow is the closest.

Did you get measured for any other irons or go straight for PXG?

I have tried every brand under the sun and then went and tried PXG and liked them the most. Now have a full bag of PXG and am realy looking forward to the new season, we have been allowed to play golf up in Scotland and early trials look promising. Hitting the full bag realy well.

Prices are alot better now my first set I bought second hand as they were too expensive brand new. For example my 0211 fairways cost me £210 brand new and I paid £110 an iron with graphite shafts for the new 0211 irons

I think it would be sensible to remain open to other brands as well as PXG. I had the woods for a while but moved on from them and won't be heading back. The PXGs have come down in price a fair bit, but seem to have given up some of the features they built their brand on in doing so.

Considered Ping, Srixon, Mizuno or Titleist? All have new club offerings in the same bracket as the PXG 0211.
