I have to say, it felt lovely and I've been trying to replicate it ever since - got nowhere near!!!!

When all is well, ie flat ground, warm & still conditions etc

9 iron - 130
7 iron - 160
5 iron - 185

all approximates as those conditions mentioned above rarely occur!

There is no accounting for that shot that you hit and flys 20-30 yards further than anything you've hit with it all day. I did the same at our 10th last year. Middle of the fairway and an 8 iron in. Waved to the green on the way past and ended up by the 12th fairway with no real shot back. Never happened again with any other club all round (and I was actually hitting consistantly for once) and no idea what caused it

I did the same today and stuffed a 9 iron to 8 ft and holed the putt for a Bird. Only good enough for a half though

Only 87.623% here.

Normal is only 65%.

You were playing in a greensomes with Hywel and it was his turn to hit the second shot.
