closing 'ceremony'

I thought it was total drivel and was exactly why we all cringed at the thought of the Olympics being in London. Surprised they didn't wheel out Alf Garnet, Steptoe & Son and Victor Meldrew.... or did I miss that bit?

Still don't get why we need a rubbish rock concert to close the olympics, just make a speech and switch off the flame!

(Trying to picture Rory picking up the USPGA trophy but not until after Springsteen/Tina Turner have done a 45 minute set)!!

It got better from Kaiser Chiefs onwards. Some class acts missing though. Costello could've wrote a song to depict the past fortnight,i'm sure.BGT meets X Factor was a tad disappointing!!

Oooh. A lot of "discussion" here.

I thought it was terrific.

Sadly, as ever, some half-brained numpty got the job of choosing the music.

George Michael? Liam Gallagher? (who was out of tune as well). Spice Girls? - embarrassing, the lot of them.

The rest were OK though.

Quite why it became a fully fledged concert I'll never know. It's a closing ceremony - the word is a kind of give-away.

That aside, it was spectacular and certainly a good end. Shame the LSO were miming.

P.S. Why did we get "We will rock you", when Queen also wrote a relatively unknown song called "We are the champions"???

A bit like the Curates egg for me.

After George Michael I was half expecting Garry Glitter next

Muse were great, Matt Bellamy can sing unlike many others on show. Brian May showed his class as did the Who. Jessie J went up in my estimations. But why no Lemmy ? Who is responsible for this oversight ...

As for the Spice Girls: someone should chip in so that Sporty can get a boob job like all the others.
