As good as the east coast is, from birmingham is a journey from hell, from leicester takes me over 2 hours to get to hunstanton and brancaster, and closer to 3 for cromer/sheringham

ps, if going that way, worth a parkland knock round kings lynn, one of the tightest courses I've played when the trees are in full leaf!

I've seen all these suggestions of the south west being the closest well time wise you are looking at about 2 hours to Burnham and if you really want a choice I suggest you head towards Southport which is about the same distance and has a superior selection. I got to Hillside in just over 2 hours from Nuneaton and it takes about the same to get to Weston where HID has relatives.
