Cleveland Warranty

Just need one of their wrenches to adjust it if needed. Where is best to purchase?

What fitting is the wrench/bolt/screw you need to adjust? Would a wander into a Halfords or similar not work? I would guess they are an allen key/star key format?

Just had a look. It looks like a square socket? If so you may find a ratchet adaptor in a Halfords to fit? Be cheaper than going for a golf manufacturers wrench I would guess....

Personally, I wouldn't go down this route. Why risk damaging the driver for the sake of a couple of quid?

I don't see how getting a non-Cleveland socket to remove a screw would damage the club, but yes you are right if the difference is only a couple of quid get original part.

It's just as mentioned on another thread, mention golf & prices rocket!

But also to speed up getting the bit needed, everyone has a Halfords or similar near them, whereas waiting on an ebay delivery or similar can be a while. After all, it's Friday & chances are the new weapon will be unsheathed & used in anger over the next 48 hours.....:one:

It's more my mechanical ignorance that makes me say that than anything else. I agree really that I can't see how it would damage the club, but equally, I don't know for sure that it wouldn't so I wouldn't take that chance.

Also, to adjust immediately if it's not possible to wait for the part to be delivered, I'm sure most golf shops wouldn't mind someone using theirs.

The screws are done up to a specific torque with the supplied ratchet, using a generic (or even another manufacturers ratchet) can run the risk of under/over tightening. Either of which could damage the screw and/or the head/shaft.

Then again the torque spec will be a function of the thread, and the head size will be a function of the thread.....ie in this context if it fits I would expect the designed for torque settings to be close enough (given that it's all going to have similar build objectives in a golf club regarding weight/strength etc).

Then again if you don't have a workshop full of tools it's probably best if you get the designed for version!
