Has anyone used it before? I bought a relatively new driver (TL310) second hand and quickly developed a crack in the head through no misuse. I contacted cleveland who have asked for the club. What is the likely outcome?

I would have thought the warranty isnt going to cover a 2nd hand club but...
Many of the big manufacturers will replace a cracked club with a similar model, sometimes a new one...
They could send it back and say "Sorry not our problem" but I suspect they'll help you out .

As it was 2nd hand I didn't think they would help. However them asking for it has made me wonder they'll send a replacement/knock down price.

Surely if there is a time limit on the warranty then it will be valid regardless of if its second hand or not

If it's under a year old and developed a crack would defiantly persue it and bring in the power of social media

Is the TL310 not from about 2011/12?

Warranties are usually only valid with the original owner, once the item has been sold on and become second hand the warranty becomes invalid !...

Although having said that I have a set of second hand "XCG3's" which have a lifetime warranty but what they usually do is tag "limited" onto the warranty as in "limited to the original purchaser" so if they honour the warranty then your a very lucky man and they're a very worthy company because they aren't obliged to honour it in any way whatsoever !...

Ping replaced my Anser driver with an i25 when the weighting screw went inside the head after 2 plus years. No cost - superb customer relations.

I sold a Ping G5 to a friend, about a year later he cracked the face, he sent it back to Ping via our club pro and they replaced it with the newer G series free of charge. More great service from Ping

I sent my PW back to cleveland via east berks club pro. they had it back to me fixed in about two weeks (looked like a new club head to be fair. (mine was only about three months old though.)

Most major manufacturers are interested in why such a failure occurs - not to avoid warranty issues (if applicable) but from a future manufacturing/design aspect.

I would expect them to contact you after they have examined it and , unless there's clear (to thwm) evidence of misuse I would expect them to offer to replace or re - head.

I had a crica 10 yr old yonex driver that cracked across the face, offered me the latest model for about £50 iirc. Happy bunny.

Only manuf that has a reputation for sticking to the letter of the small print on this is TM (although no personal experiance, just anecdotal when I had my problem and asked around).

Years ago I bought a hi-bore xl in the states, unbeknown to me the earlier models were recalled as they discovered they were over the cor limits. I played it for about 8 month, the newer model xls came out.
When I found out about the recall it was too late, added to the fact id bought it in America. I contacted Cleveland Europe who replaced it with the newer model no problems at all. Only thing I had as proof of purchase was my bank statement but that only proved a purchase from a golf store.

not from my experience .... had a friend at my club that had a R11 that cracked, and they replaced with an R1. Obviously the R11 was well beyond its warranty period but they still honoured it.

A quick update - cleveland have excelled and provided me with a brand new 588 custom driver! Absolutely over the moon!! Excellent service and would recommend to anyone.

Just need one of their wrenches to adjust it if needed. Where is best to purchase?

Ebay I guess.

If you have one from another manufacturer, that should probably work, although google it to make sure they are compatible.

I've used my TM one in a Titleist driver with no problems.
