Your actively asking for help with your back because your in agony

Avoiding golf would be a help.
My doctor encouraged me to play golf. She said that the turning motion will help strengthen my back muscles. Don't swing like Tiger or Bryson but a gentle turn plus the exercise of walking is a positive.

It depends of course on what problem you have with your back but in some cases doping up and playing will help improve matters.

Surely best to wait tho until you have got that advise first

My father and I both used to suffer from lower back problems.
When we separately started cycling, or back problems miraculously disappeared.

It shouldn't need saying, but it appears that it does. Not all back problems are the same, even if they superficially appear to be, not all treatments are appropriate for each, even if they worked well for your mate Dave who had a bad case, and not everybody reacts the same way to medicines.

Tramadol and similar opioids, in particular, are known to cause a range of unpleasant side effects including hallucinations, and addiction starts quickly. I have taken Tramadol for a bad rib fracture, and it was very effective, but I still made sure to come off it after 3 days.

Do not take medicines prescribed for anyone else, legal or otherwise, unless you are absolutely certain they will be safe for you. (And you can't know that).

You may think it is funny to joke about dealing, but if your doctor finds out you have been giving or receiving controlled drugs, they may consider themselves obliged to take it more seriously than you.

I got your message but can't reply for some reason. Colin and I were at school together so I guess he is due to retire. Pity. I hope that you find relief somehow. :)
Cheers Clive, Yes he retired last year, probably due to a sore back :D.
I'm still trying to get a GP appointment but having no joy so far.:cry:
