Know we've got a few horse racing enthusiasts on here, so who's going?

I'm there on Gold cup day for the first time, usually go on Champion Hurdle day but decided to have a change.

Any early fancies?

Went with Apple's Jade and Footpad double yesterday, not the biggest punt but they both should be winners...

It's my Favourite week of the year We're going to Stratford Monday then i'm there Tuesday/Wednesday.

I usually have a load of ante post bets but ive had very few this year.

Ive a few quid on Altior already and i'll top up on the day no doubt.

Ive also got 20 ew on Waiting Patiently 20/1 fo the Ryanair but i think he'll get pulled if he doesnt get the ground.

Good luck though Bazz

Only had a few ante post bets this year and most of them look like not turning up or turning up in the wrong race, i spend far less time on the horses these days than used to and feel quite out of touch bar a few of the races. Be interesting to see if the recent weather has any effect on the horses, plenty of preparations have to have been affeced

I think it'll only affect the smaller yards, all of the big boys have all weather gallops.

i dont think theres as much value in ante post racing now.

Tend to agree, its definitely got harder working out which horse especially the bigger yards will send to which race early enough. Once its public knowledge the fun prices tend to have gone

Then you've got the likes of Henderson and Mullins not letting on about injurys to horses etc.

i lost a good few quid on ante post betting a few years ago and i vowed i'd never do that again.

I would imagine a lot of people will be on the first day quad of Getabird, Footpad, Buveur and Apples Jade.

Think this could be a very unpredictable festival this year with the soft ground and how it may cut up throughout the day.

the ground is everything, wont be having much of a bet until seen a few races day 1 and if its as soft as i think it may well be

If it stays soft/heavy then i'll be steaming into American for the Gold cup. i also think Definitely Red is a great ew bet @ 16's

Going being on the heavy side is going to make punting even harder I think, might well mean we get a few upsets that for sure!

Seems every book wants to give an offer on the first tomorrow

I've never met a poor bookie!

.....tips? Anyone?

Here is a few I have heard and seen

Here is few each ways

De Plotting Shed in the Close Brother Novice
Le Breuil in Pertemps HC Hurdle
Malaya in the Fred Winter HC Hurdle

Couple I fancy but reckon odds will be short

Footpad - in the Arkle
Santini - Albert Bartlett Novice
Waiting Patiently in the Ryanair Chase

Elgin worth a nibble in the Champion Hurdle

I went straight in on Douvan when I heard about Altior, but by all accounts as soon as the puss is out of his leg he'll be fine almost straight away.

OK for those who have bookmaker accounts without any limitations the following bonuses seem to be about (not exhaustive but the best ones ive seen)

Skybet
Bet 20 on the first race and if it loses get a free 20 bet to use on rest of days card

William Hill
Winnings doubled on the Supreme Novices Hurdle upto 100

Ladbrokes
Winnings doubled on the Supreme Novices Hurdle upto 50 free bet

Bet365
Will be best price (or equal best) every horse from 10am on raceday
Back any winner at 4/1 or bigger and get the stake as a free bet too (upto 50)
Seems account specific so check your messages but they are offering a free (upto) 50 bet on the first race each day if you bet (upto) 50 on another race the same day
