Another dismal performance at the back. When is somebody going to tell these so called superstars that fartarsing about with the ball on the edge of your area will end in tears. My school football coach would have bashed me

Got a feeling that away goal may be vital and wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea do it in the 2nd leg. Think AVB will get slaughtered for the team selection and leaving so many of the bigger names on the bench

AVB will get slaughtered for leaving the big names on the bench. However I do have some sympathy with the bloke and admire what he is trying to do by getting younger players in and trying to offload some that are past their best, yes Lampard,Malouda,Drogba and Cech that is aimed at you. However though Essien would have started tonight for his ball winning ability so bit of a clanger there. The away goal is the only positive note on another poor night in the CL for English clubs. Pratini and his crew will be having a good chuckle at the moment.

Off the pitch, just hope your lads get back ok.

I thought Roma away was bad, but Napoli is meant to be even worse.

How these particular italian clubs dont get banned is beyond me, Roma must have stabbed more tha 20 English over the last few years including LFC, man U and Boro.

It'll take someone to be killed before they take any action.

Napoli haven't the same lustre in terms of name as AC, Inter and Juventus but they have got quite a good team at the moment though. I still wouldn't rule Chelsea out though, one early goal.....

They were winning at Anfield the other year, then an unfit Gerrard came on and scored a hat-trick.

Agreed mate the Wops fans are potty the lot of them. Crazy really as I have been on holiday many times to various parts of Italy and it is a lovely place with lovely people. Napoli Ultras are in particular very nasty with all sorts of weapons and missiles so lets hope the English fans get back o.k. Italian clubs always get off lightly for some reason, look at Hysel they got off scot free with that and they were certainly partly to blame. They have got a good side though the front trio of Hamsik,Lavezzi and Cavani are particually impressive. Anyway lets hope the Headhunters give em a nice welcome at the Bridge for the return leg:D only kidding by the way as all forms of Hooliganism is the lowest of the low

I know, the Ultras are great at making their stadiums a work of art, and provode some quality atmosphere. Outside the ground though can be very moody. Ive been to Roma twice (1984 and the 2000's), Inter Milan, Genoa and Juventus. You really have to watch where you go, but again they are very passionate and you can also have a good chat with the ordinary fans.

Heysel, I was there as a 14 year old and yes Juventus also contributed, but that conversation is for another time.

Not had the pleasure of going to footie in Italy but seen enough of the nastiness to make me think I will not ever be going either!! However the real passionate fans are very good at making the stadiums works of art and I dare say a lot of them are great folks. Was only knee high when Hysel happened and yes the coversation is definitely for another time wasn't trying to start a debate on that though by the way apols if it came across that way

No its ok, didn't think you where.

Genoa was the most impressive though out of them, 45,000 all singing in unison, flares, massive flags covering all 3 of their stands.

Galatasaray's Al sami yen was even louder, and only 25,000 in the old ground!!!

Ah yes our old friends the Turkish now they are a bunch of fruit loops at the footy. I was at Sunderland when England played Turkey in a qualifier a few years back and they were absolutely nutty wearing Scream masks and having signs up with 2-0 wrote on them referring to the 2 Leeds fans that got killed in Turkey. They were a real scary bunch, glad when I got home to be honest. Again nice country and people for a Holiday. Must be Footy that brings the worst out in people.
