Cheats in your club.......

I play with a bloke who is really bad at counting. He tends to think everyone else has taken a shot more than they have, but always manages to forget one that he has taken. I quite like him, but always feel uncomfortable when it's time to put the scores on the card.

Quite a few rumours about certain people at our club, including a member who always manages to find his ball no matter which part of the rough or trees it wanders into and also gets it out of there, allegedly using the leather wedge for the recovery shot!

I witnessed somebody using a fairway mat incorrectly last winter, they were placing their ball on the tee they were using to peg the mat to the ground! One stern look and a raise of my eyebrows later and it didn't happen again, although we haven't played together this winter for some reason!

A few of my fellow members have suspicions over handicaps, rumours abound that we have a few "sandbaggers" amongst the membership and that we may have at least one member who has been less than honest/realistic about scores in the past, particularly when their handicap dropped drastically in a short period of time.
