Morning all.

Yet another stupid question from yours truly. I bought a 2 iron thinking all my irons were regular shaft, but on closer inspection, they are all stiff (yet the 2 iron is regular). How easy / expensive is it to get a 2 iron stiff shaft fitted, roughly? I thought I'd ask here before sounding like a numpty in the pro shop. Online numpty-ism is less embarrassing than face-to-face.

Many thanks in advance.

A 2 iron shaft, unless something pretty exotic, should cost about £10 for the goods, and perhaps another £5-10 to fit. You will also need to transfer the old grip or replace it.

One thing you could do to soften the iron set flex is soft step them. Basically that would involve putting the 3 iron shaft in the 4, the 4 in the 5, etc. You will have a shaft left over at the short end, but need a new one at the long end, and the process will soften the flex by about half a flex or so.

It would be about £35/40 to get a Dynamic Gold S300 in it, possibly a little more for a rifle.

Have you played with it yet? It may not be an issue anyway.

I guess my Pro is expensive then? I have reshafted my putter myself, at a cost of £13, but once it goes into the pro shop, they whack a fair bit on.

It also depends if they bother to save the grip.

It is certainly eas wnough to change it.

Should get an S300 with grip fitted for about £25-£30 max. Or buy my Ping Eye 2, 2 iron for £25 complete with new S300 shaft and new grip!
