This morning I could not open any of my car doors with my car keys.

The boot was open and I climb through but could not open the doors by the handles or the unlock button on the dash. However once in I could open the drivers door with the handle but no others.

The evening before up to 7 oclock I had no problems.

The car is a BMW 330d tourer.

Any experts

I have 2 young children and can not use it until its sorted and BMW have just quoted £75 per hour plus £18 for a courtesy car.

No experience with this, but the obvious one to check for is a fuse.

I'm guessing it can't be the battery in the key otherwise the immobiliser would prevent the engine starting?.

I had this problem with my Passat. Apparently it was caused by too many presses of the buttons on the key fob when out of range with the car and the key de-registered itself from the cars system. I had to get a new key reprogrammed. I have two keys for my beemer. Do you have another to try? My key fob also has a wee slip out key for emergency access too.

I was 15ft from my car.
Yes I have two keys but neither work.
I am using the integrated key atm.

Nightmare really as it looks like it will cost a lot of money to get fixed.

Sounds like a blown (Unlock) fuse to me!

Check the manual and/or find a non main agent BMW guy who will probably recognise the symptoms and know the solution immediately!

Take it back to BMW or try a local independent garage, I'm sure the latter will be able to help.

Thx for all your replys.

Unfortunately I still have the problem.
The fuses on my car were updated about 2 years ago when this happened before.

So I rang up BMW in Bridgwater and enquired about fixing said problem and was told it would be £75 per hour plus £18 for the hire car but the hire car was not available to November[what].
So I could not go with this option because I have 2 youngish kids and don't want to risk using my car.
So I got hold of a company in Wellington who have diagnostic equipment but not to the standard of the main dealer.

I booked the car in and after having the car looked at they could still not open the doors, however they were very helpful and courteous and suggested a BMW specialist as there equipment comes with a 2 year guarantee as this problem could happen again and as I understand it the car has deadlocked itself.

So back to BMW and booked in for the 11th of November and a poxy mini as a courtesy car.
Bloody frustrating wait and unable to ferry the wife or kids around.

I had the exact problem on my 330d. There was a control box that needed a new relay, I got it done cheap. Let me see if I can find the guide when I g
