Censored PM's

It's not exactly "private" ... mods can read whatever they like

Because he wants to. It's a private conversation between adults. If he wants to swear like a Brummie builder in a Working Mens Club then he can.. Unfortunately, the filter will still do it's job and star it all out though.. I wonder if the swear filter reports each change it makes? Could you get an infraction for a private message swear fest?

No mods can't access private messages, and we wouldn't want to anyway,
So you can basically say what you want, however the sweary word filter will still operate and any member is able to report any PM that is abusive, intimidating, threatening etc
In which case we would look at it and take appropriate action

So now you know
Use it but don't abuse it😎

So you can or you can't read PM's? Which is it?

Because when it gets reported like a post it "comes" along as well otherwise it is just random reports that relate to nothing. We can't however read PM's just for the sake of it.

threatening via pm's is childish and should be reported :p
(I speak from experience)

I agree completely, i was subject to the above, I don't know what the fella I question was trying to achieve:o

I did respond in kind, that's where the op came from. Normally I'm such a nice fella :D

It was a surprise to me!!

Becuase it's in the context of the conversation, and I am responding to a threat of physical violence  wouldn't/ can't do it on the main forum don't worry.

I guess you're right about the swear filter. It's frustrating in a way as it makes you sound like a knob!!:o:D

If infractions are given out for PM's..... See you in a couple of weeks . :D

I saw that, I'm not really into telling tales. I was surprised the swear filter kicked in on PM's, every day is a school day, cheers for the feedback.

However, even if you don't report a PM- as I didn't when I received an abusive/goading one- you will still get a warning from the mods- as I did- for not reporting it!

How does that work then? How did they know you had received it?

enough speculation, Cmac posted on the forum that he had received an abusive PM (post subsequently removed as part of a clean up)

He received a message from the mods on another matter and it was also mentioned that he could report the PM if he wanted.
He didnt

SO.....

1. We dont know the content of the message
2. we get criticised for giving advice. Thanks

Im closing this thread as all the questions originally raised have now been answered
