Yes they did play well! They played very well in my opinion. They had a game plan and they stuck to it. They had one half chance and they converted it. For a team with Celtic's limited financial footing compared to Barcelona or even any of the English teams its a fantastic result to run Barcelona so close. Credit where credit is due Celtic played and defended magnificently in Barcelona.

I could hit 18 greens in regulation (great stat) & 3 putt them all because i left myself miles from the pin (rubbish stat) = 18over
I could miss all 18 (rubbish stat ) and chip close , then 1 putt them all (great stat) = level par ..
Stats mean very little , the game (business) is a bout results .. 1 more bit of defending & barca could have had the worst stat result for a team with 90% possesion .. 1-1 draw ...
Goals scored . points gained, is all that matters ..
Liverpool can have 95% of the ball next Sunday , if we score with our 5% , and they dont , who will be the happier ??

In my opinion, they are sitting 2 pts clear at the top of the SPL with a game in hand. They are in a reasonable position after 3 games in the champions league, still with a chance of going through or into Europa League, which will give them some valuable European experience. They are in a very healthy financial position and seem to have a selection of players which appear to be valued highly compared to the very small fees paid for them. I reckon there are a lot worse places they could be.......
