I'm wondering why the run out on my drives is significantly shorter than my PPs.

We can do very similar trajectories but his carry is nearly always shorter than mine but his ball runs forever. It looks visually as if his ball is running about half as far again as his carry whereas mine will normally only run about another 20 or 30 yards on a 200 yard carry.

I'm assuming its the spin I'm getting on my ball but, as I say, I'm comparing when our trajectories are about the same.

MAte, I started a thread earlier this week with exactly the same query. Do a week back search and you'll get some good advice from it. I think i headed it "no roll out - help !!"

Spin differences will deliver different trajectories, so if they are the same there must be a lot of other differences hidden in there!

For you are really concerned then the starting point is to establish the facts and both of you need to go on a machine to monitor launch angles, spin and ball speed.

I suspect that although the trajectories look similar they aren't- you are only seeing similar apex heights.

I should add that in firm ground conditions it's not the spin on landing that dictates the roll out so much as the angle that the ball contacts the ground and horizontal speed it travelling when it does so
