What does yours do. Talking to bro in law on Saturday and he was in about how they had a discussion at work re car fobs. In essence a lot never knew what they could do. Suffice to say ave just discovered mine unlocks the boot. Had the car Five years in September. 🤔😖😂
So do you know what yours does.

On Mrs Imurg's theres a button to open the driver's door - press it twice to open the others(PITA)
And a button to open everything including the boot (useful)
Mine just has one for locking and unlocking everything (easy)

If you hold the open button down for about 5 seconds it moves all of the windows down. Very handy on a warm day so that the oven like heat can escape as you walk towards the car. I had it on a previous car for about a year before I discovered it. Very handy, it is something I use quite a lot.

I think it does something with the headlights when you lock it if you hold the button down long enough. It is there to keep them on for 10 secs or so to show you into the house or something. We have a security light on our driveway so I have never used it.

In reverse, if you hold the lock button down all windows and sunroof if you have one, will close
It’s a standard VW thing.
The coming home theatre is a double press of the lock button I think.

Standard on BMW too.

My volvo doesn't do anything fancy, unlock the boot only and a button i think which sets the alarm off. nowt more than that! apart from lock/unlock obviously!

Check that out. I had a Volvo XC60 and that did the windows down thing. Hold the open button for about 5 seconds, it may work depending on the age of the car.

Neither of these work on my Fabia

My 2016 xc60 has a button to put the lights on for 90 seconds or so to let you get home, or spot it in a car park, and a button like this “i” that when I push it tells me if the cars locked. Also a button that pops the boot open without unlocking the rest of the car. Another button that sets the alarm off as well as two normal buttons to lock and unlock the car. Mainly fancy nonsense!

I had one where the key position on the fob when the lock button was pressed decided whether or not the engine immobiliser was activated.

I also had one where a button on the fob opened the boot., the trouble was that when I turned the key in the ignition my thumb naturally pressed against the button so the first thing I had to do before driving off was to get out of the car and shut the boot.

I do love a starter button.(y)

Nothing beats a starter button! So much so, many moons ago i bought one from a Honda S2000 (as its red and looks awesome!) and fitted it into my Z3M at the time, it was in place of the cig lighter, so was positioned well! nothing beat starting the car by button!!

Looked a bit like this:DSC00469.jpg

I have a starter button in my CLS. I could remove it, for security reasons, but any thief can buy a new one off ebay for £12 so there is no point.
