Car MOT relief

My 21 year old Mazda 323f has sailed through it's MOT again. Picking her up shortly when her annual full service has been done.

Just need to do something with the bonnet as the lacquer is coming off and it looks a mess Have been looking at ebay and scrapyards but not found one.

Why not just get a decent bodyshop to rub it down and give it a blow over?

For one panel it wouldn't be too awful. Are the rest of the panels fading?

There's some lacquer beginning to go on one door and rear panel as well but the paints OK under there. The bonnet looks as if it's down to the metal although I'm sure it's not. No rust on it. It's coloured but looks flat if that makes sense Think I might try a couple of places and get a price as it gets through it's MOT each year with no advisories on and has needed no money spending on it in the last two years apart from MOT and service which are dirt cheap anyway.
