Morning all. A player at my club played 18 holes in a stableford competition but was in a rush and when they entered their score into the system they didn’t put a score for the 18th. The system declared it as an nr but they have the written scorecard with the correct score on. Can they add on the last hole the day after? It would be a scoring card so they are keen to get their handicap down. Thanks

The comp should be closed by the committee who should check the scorecard to compare with the entered score on the PSi and correct the error

If it had been uploaded to the portal and is changed subsequently in your own competition software it won’t be automatically reloaded with any changes to the portal, you will need to make any changes manually on the WHS portal otherwise the handicaps will no be changed.

The player should explain his mistake when entering the score to the Handicaps and Comps committee. They should take the signed card as the official score, make adjustments to the competition outcome and change the WHS score differential on the player's scoring record, if all is well.

With both IG and ClubV1, scores that have already been uploaded to dotgolf are automatically (an immediately) updated there whenever any changes are made in IG/ClubV1.

This is certainly not the case in IG as this is the response they gave when asked this very question.

If it’s via the ISV then it’s automatically changed when they make the update

The only exception is scores originally uploaded and then reduced below the minimum number of holes required for handicapping on the ISV, e.g. the entire back 9 changed from NR to NS taking the holes started below 10; this is because dotgolf simply does not accept such scores (and would error if an attempt was made to make such a modification to an existing score directly).

The fact that the player still had a written card in their possession suggests that the competition scores were to be returned by an electronic card in which case the inputted score is the returned score, the written card having no standing.

I guess it depends on the Comp T's & C's. We no longer handle cards & only send for a card photo for Trophy Comps but the 'card is still King' should they error on input.

How did you establish as a fact that a written card was still in the player's possession?
I would have thought that after entering his score electronically then the written card would be immediately surrendered to a box or a slot and no longer in his possession.
But neither of us can know this for certain, unless the OP can clarify.
