Just had my first lesson last week, after playing golf for the best part of 10 years. Being able to see my swing on the camera during the lesson was a great help, but I feel the only way to get the best out of range/practice session would be to buy a camera. With about £250 to spend I am not sure if I would be able to get a decent camera with a good enough fps, or if I would be better spending my money on a range finder to help improve my short game. BTW I have a sky caddie SG5, but get really frustrated not having the exact yardage to the flag!

any suggestions???

If you already have a GPS id put the camera above the laser, that said for £250 you should be able to get both

The casio high speed cameras have been down as cheap as £100 and you can pick a laser up for £150 (albeit maybe 2nd hand)

If your course use coloured flags to denote front. middle, back, unless your greens are massive, surely you can guess the yardage to the pin to the nearest 5 yards or so. Are you more accurate than that?

If your club doesn't have coloured flags, perhaps you should request it.

Even if they don't have coloured flags you can move the flag on SC into an approximate position and get a reading. As Murph says unless you are ultra accurate that will give a sufficient reading. I'm not a huge fan of recording every range session. Apart from anything else do you really know what you are looking at/for unless a pro goes through it too. I do use them, usually after a lesson to compare with the video footage my pro mails me so I have a direct comparison
