Right, so I may be starting a golf Youtube channel, giving tips, course vlogs and like tracking my progress and practice on my quest of turning pro ( although there is a good few years until that'll hopefully happen! I've been playing really well shooting mid 70s regularly over the past few months!!

Can any one recommend a camera, budget of £200. 1080p video recording. And external mic input would be great! I would get a 'video camera' but would like to do a tad of photograpghy as well!

Thanks very much!

Edit - also linking it in with my Duke of Edinburgh award, as a kind of new skill ( film making)!

If you want something that will do the job well a good second hand DSLR is what you want anything from a Canon 550d upwards, you might need to spend a little more money though and a good tripod will be essential

Great Cheers! I would be zooming into greens from for away etc. I believe I have to do this during the editing process, am i right, and is it any good?

Thanks for your help :)

Also - On the GoPro I won't be able to see what I'm filming right? Or there is an app for this right?

But do I need wifi for it. I.e i want to be able to frame myself whilst on the middle of the golf course!

On advice a bought a Casio ex-fh 25. Never really gotten round to using it. If you fancy having look round the net to see if it's what your after, I'll be tempted to part with it.

(also comes with a tripod :))

A DSLR that will do video will cost a bit more than £200, unless you can get a really good second hand deal - and most of them don't autofocus, you'd also need a zoom lens, there's a fair learning process with DSLRs too.

You'll need a tripod, ideally a decent one, and a way of recording sound without excessive wind noise - the internal mic in a camera won't cut it in that respect and a lot of the cheaper cameras don't have a jack to plug in an external mic - I use a rode videomic with a 'dead cat' to kill wind noise.

Thanks! I'll have a good think and do a bit of research, and get back too u all! Thanks ;)

You'll always struggle if you want to be behind and in front of the camera. They can all do their jobs fantastically well but like above to have a dslr it'll have no auto feature (unless your looking at Canon 70D) which you want get for £200.
Go pro has wifi - you can use them from phone apps etc which is handy.
Post editing you can do a lot with too!
I have a DSLR which of course would win hands down but it's near impossible to do all on your own

I would go designated VC and go the Go Pro, have one and they are unbelievable.
This one is just a tad over 200 http://shop.gopro.com/EMEA/cameras/hero3plus-silver/CHDHN-302-master.html
and the entry one is £120 so would leave you money for a decent point and shoot also

It depends entirely what sort of quality you are after Ive suggested A DSLR which incidentally is good enough for film studios to use and second hand is a great way to buy kit - a cheap GoPro is a consumer tool which while offering great results they don't cut it for commercial purposes. To be honest if the budget is only £200 I would suggest that a good used DSLR is only just about obtainable for this sort of money Canon 500d or 550d - otherwise you are looking at point and shoots with tiny sensors which wont give decent results in anything other than perfect conditions. If it were me Id up the budget to £500 and buy kit that I know would do the job.

Thanks folks! So its a DSLR!

For filming course vlogs challenges etc, I'll have a shotgun mic thing, that goes on the hot shoe thing, I then need somewhere to place my audio recorder, so is there some sort of clip on flat surface to place my audio recorder on/in. I could use a dual hot shoe and mic on one, and then use a hot shoe to phone holder Adapdter, just wondering if it would fit or if there is any other options? Thanks again!

Ps this is the recorder, do you think it would fit in a phone mount? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00DBOW2JY/ref=ox_sc_act_image_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AC0MRGLE639HQ
