Camberley's nice - even in the rain...

Many Many thanks to Anthony (TXL) for the round at Camberley today.
The weather wasn't good but we had a great time.
A good bunch of Guys in the Greedie as well.
Fantastic course that was playing quite long at times into a stiff old breeze and intermittant rain.
A couple of dodgy chips and a few putts that didn't drop but otherwise a reasonable performance from Yours Truly on a new course, Anthony, of course, playing very steadily.
Should have had a couple of birdies (including the last) but the putts just slipped by.
Looking forward to seeing the course in the Summer.

Ian, It was a pleasure. As you say, shame about the weather, at least we were in the bar when the worst of it came through Hopefully in the summer it will be a totally different course, firmer & faster greens that will make you all think.

One day, I will figure out how to hit a decent drive on the 12th and not hook it OOB into the gardens!

Imurg, glad you liked it. It does run a lot more in summer (obviously) and their greens are very, very good and true and fast. I presume you managed to avoid the hidden pond

The best thing about playing a course for the first time is that you have no demons, or even know which holes are the difficult driving holes.

I could list loads more things you do not want to do, maybe I should do that in the week before the meeting

Then again, on a hooked tee shot will get you in the trees/bushes/heather or OOB on 13 holes, on the other 5, you will just get in the trees/bushes/heather.
