I've just changed the shafts and grips on my irons, 24 hours before playing in the Camberley Heath meet tomorrow and Blackmoor meet the following day.

Not hit them today, haven't a clue how they will be different and by how much... The next few days could be interesting ;)

Have I done wrong here??

You'll be OK, unless you've gone from steel to spaghetti or something.

I'm hoping you've left that trusty 3 wood un-touched? :D

You might be surprised. I am on holiday and played with a set of rental clubs, supermarket specials Top Flites, with flanges big enough to kill a badger and 'medium flex' graphite shafts that felt like they were made of liquorice. Played OK, though.

Oh dear. That sounds like a guaranteed 40 pointer then. Me and my sticks will chop our way round as normal and see what happens. Plenty of ammo packed, loads of cold drinks and plenty of suncream

Looking forward to the whole 2 days, meeting more fellow forumers, take a few quid if the ping users... ;)

What shafts have you changed to/from?

When I had mine soft stepped it took a couple of rounds to stop hitting it out of the toe, and that was only a minor tweak

Unless of course something just went wrong with my swing coincidentally at the same time as the shafts were altered?

I've changed them from Dynamic gold R300 to project X 5.5's. Looking for more ball flight as the DG R300 were a bit lower in flight.

Hopefully have time for the range today when I get to Camberley. ;)

I guess you would get a lower flight. The 5.5 is nearer to DGS300 so you've gone a fair bit stiffer. Having said that I was hitting some trial clubs on Friday, one of them had R300 shaft and the reat S300 - couldn't tell 'em apart!!

Oh dear!!! I went from DGR300's to PX 500's in order to lower my ball flight!!!!!

my DGR 300's were ballooning.....are you sure you've gone the right way if you want a higher flight?
