I demoed the 6 iron in this set yesterday. Standard length, lie and loft. The standard lofts on this are about a club stronger in terms of loft, so I expected a few extra yards and a lower flight, but wow, they really flew like rockets.

I tried the Project X PXi shaft, 6.0 flex first. Gave a lovely flight, mid trajectory, felt really nice and was at least a club longer than my current (X Forged PX Flighted).

Then tried the KBS C-taper shaft, S flex. This is a fairly robust shaft, so I was expecting it to feel a bit harsh, but it also went like a rocket, and was a good bit higher than the PXi.

The club felt solid without being harsh, and was pretty consistent which you wouldn't always expect from a hot face.

Nice nice club.

They sound great as they have "J Face Technology", "Feel Management Technology" and "V Grooves".

Awesome. Either that or total nonsense?

J Face - "This new face technology provides pro performance with the distance, feel and workability that better players demand."

OK - now I really understand. It provides pro performance. Perfect. Eh?

Feel Management Technology - "This technology fine tunes sound while also providing crisp, dynamic feel and playability."

Fine tunes the sound? Lovely. Like tuning forks then?

V Grooves - "These are the most precise grooves we’ve ever put in an iron of this type, and they’re designed to deliver more control and shot-shaping for pinpoint accuracy."

The most precise ever? Incredible! Thanks Callaway.

I wonder who makes up this utter rubbish? And who on earth reads this and thinks it means something or adds to the decision to buy? Bewildering really.

All that said, nice looking irons!

One of my playing partners has just got these and I must admit from having a quick swish with them they do look smashing and except from the prototype irons would be about the only other callaway irons I like the look of. If I was looking for new irons they would be high on the list to start with.

"Callaway say the X Hots are 3mph faster and 10 yards longer than their Razr X irons."

something familiar about that statement:smirk:

certainly a good looking iron, always liked Callaway albeit the back is a bit 'busy'

I've been playing with these for a month and can honestly say they are working well. At address they look spot on which gives you the confidence to just swing. Nearly my first hole in one on Sunday...I don't put that fully down to the clubs but I had 3 like that in one round, never before happened.

I've got the xhot 2013 none pro version with standard off the shelf regular shafts and I'm getting an extra 10-15 from my previous ap1 and their more forgiving - not bad to look at either

Hit the Rocketbladez Tour but want to compate the Cally X Hot Pros. We have a demo day at the club soon so going to get a fit on the monitor and see how they perform. Still like the X forged but not sure they are forgiving enough for my game
