• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

Callaway Kings of Distance.

Can only echo everything that has been said about the great job by Golf Monthly, Callaway, Stoke Park and the pros.

being in the final for the white team - that was definitely a first. I'm used to a few felo
low members at the club standing by watching us tee off on the first - not 100 plus and golf pros!

Well after the K of D day last week i went down to my local AG this morning with my SLDR to have another shootout against the Big Bertha range

On Tuesday on the trackman, I gained an average of 13 yards with a 9 degree Big Bertha Alpha Regular.

The fitter came back with the Alpha and the normal BB, so we could have a full test.

now the monitor at AG obviously isnt the same as trackman, and when I creamed one with the sldr , was agahst to see it had only registered 196 yards. anyway for comparison purposes it was a useful tool, but was a good 30/40 yards short of real life

was hitting the SLDR about 185 on average, with about 20 yard dispersion. then changed to the Alpha, and it was averaging about 190 yards, and the dispersion was a bit better, but not better enough to flash the plastic. Good hits with the Alpha were very good, but off hits were not as forgiving.

We then went onto the normal BB in both 9 and 10,5 degree. The 10.5 degree was giving me a very high ball flight so was quickly binned, but the 9 degree was averaging 200 and dispersion was much tighter.

Cleared the screen and had another go with the SLDR and then changed screen colour and did the same with the BB, the result was a clear win for the standard Big Bertha by an average of 15 yards.

So I am now the owner of a Callaway Big Bertha 9 degree Regular Driver

anyone want to buy a SLDR :)

I guess the numbers dont lie Phil but amazed you have changed the SLDR after how you were hitting it when we played

Don't need it Phil, I've got a Big Bertha Alpha winging it's way next week !!!

You can go off people you know :) :)

Actually the AG guy said that they had had a fair few people in who went to the K O D day getting new kit, mostly at the expense of Taylormade.

Enjoy your FREE driver Chris :)

Won the fitting comp with Callaway

I tried both the BB drivers and whilst they looked very nice I just couldn't get good results with them - they didn't feel right when swinging as well.
